Job Overview
Manages Procurement, Inventory Control, Accounts Payables and Outbound Logistics departments of the Warehouse including systems for all KAC parts operations.
Plans, directs and organizes all activities related to procurement and cost saving activities. Responsible for overseeing the negotiating all price levels and for having a plan for meeting the price reduction strategy and targets within budget guidelines. Including payment to suppliers.
Manages the Inventory Planning and service levels of the Materials department ensuring that inventory targets are met while maintaining availability and backorder targets to keep customers satisfied.
Oversee the development and implementation of the for all the outbound transportation activities. Develops strategies to deliver goods in a cost-efficient manner and leveraging buying power with KMC operations.
Manges systems uptime and required enhancements to improve processes and the customer experience.
Scope
Manages cost savings as set by mid term plan averaging $1m per year localizing and negotiating price reductions including payments to suppliers near $1billion annually for both Ripley and Peoria operations. Drives inventory control to a budget currently at $255m including service levels targeted (CE: 96% and ME: 93%). Control outbound transportation spend at approximately $45m annually. Maintains performance of Parts Systems valued at $40m including annual budget around $2m in estimated upgrade annually.

Creates strategies to decide where to stock and how deep to stock inventory
Ensures control of inventory at dealer locations to minimize risk of returns and excess inventories at Dealer locations
Ensures managers are driving ideas and plans to improve service levels such as backorders, off the shelf availability and new model support
Leads managers to ensure proper metrics drive planners
Keeps GM informed of activities, issues and plans
Direct the Procurement Department. Coordinate plant activities to meet yearly business plan.
Set strategies to reduce cost and lead-times.
Ensures team supports buyers and planners with proper pricing.
Set strategies to improve and ensure timely payment of suppliers.
Review department operations and responsibilities. Assist managers to develop department plans that will support the plant’s business objectives.
Facilitate problem resolution between our plant and headquarters and communicate with overseas operations and headquarters to gather information needed to make business decisions. Communicate results to department managers.
Provide regular performance feedback.
Recruit and select qualified employees.
Make sure business plan goals and objectives are met. Stimulate growth and development of managers and staff.
Direct the Outbound Transportation Department. Coordinate plant activities to meet yearly business plan.
Develop and drive strategies to improve freight costs
Benchmark with other companies to develop transportation strategies to improve service to Distribution
Manage KAC Spare Parts warehouse location strategies
Manage the execution of logistic improvement plans.
Work with distribution, 3PL’s to drive above said strategies
Collaborate with KMC to leverage Komatsu total buying power
Reduce logistics expense, reduce delivery time to Dealers, Develop key KPI’s to effectively communicate with the management teams.
Direct the Parts System support teams to ensure systems support operations.
Manage all activities related to KAC Parts systems
Understand business users’ issues and maintain plan to drive improvement to their issues
Ensure uptime of systems and accuracy of information within the systems
Effectively communicate with stakeholders changes in the systems and/or future plans
Benchmark and find ways to drive system strategies that deliver cost reductions
Establishes annual budgets for the departments and maintains the minimum expenditure.
Communicates with various departments and vendors as needed to resolve outstanding problems, or issues.
Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates monitors and evaluates performance of employees.
Qualifications/Requirements
BS. Degree in Business or Supply Chain related or 10 years minimum Supply Chain Experience.
Experience with forecasting, production planning, MRP and inventory control.
Strong negotiation skills to work closely with suppliers to reduce costs.
Experience with warehouse systems and logistics including milk runs, JIT delivery and warehouse control systems.
ERP systems experience including MRP, Purchasing, Engineering Control, BOM, Quality Control, Production Control, Costing, and Warehouse.
Computer systems and networks development. Data management and reporting.
Strong Analytical skills, high competency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, MS Power Point, MS Visio
Travel is required. Distributor locations, other KAC plants, suppliers both domestic and overseas, Japan plants, KLTD. HQ
