Job Overview
Conducts initial and final inspection of machined parts in order to meet quality standards in the most cost-effective manner.
Key Job Responsibilities
Perform first piece inspections for manufacturing departments as required.
Inspect all final dimensional characteristics prior to shipment.
Initiate reject reports & tags to identify discrepant material.
Set up and operate gear testing equipment to determine quality of gears.
Repair and calibrate gage & testing equipment. Identify & tag equipment.
Inspect broaches upon request.
Set-up and operate coordinate measuring machines.
Uses overhead cranes and hoists to move and position parts
Obeys all safety rules, wears proper PPE, and adhere to 6S standard.
Assist engineers and supervision to make improvements to parts, methods, fixturing and workplace organization for continuous improvement.
Qualifications/Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Experience in an Inspection environment (with gears a plus)
Computer experience a plus
