```Position Overview
Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane and measuring and testing instruments.
Essential Job Functions
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
Make departmental rearrangements.
Repair and maintain building systems including water, compressed air, heating and air conditioning. Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
Build and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
Requisition material and supplies to complete repairs and installations.
Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Follow all Barnes company policies and procedures diligently and effectively.
Perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Marginal/Less Essential Job Functions
May drive to local vendors to pick up needed material and supplies. Valid driver’s license required.

Education and/or Experience
Associates Degree or equivalent or four to six years building and equipment maintenance experience and/ or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Power and hand tools, forklift truck, electric cart, power lifts and overhead crane.
Certificates, License, Registrations, Forklift Operator, Driver’s License
Availability to do building inspections on the weekends and holidays as needed.
