KOMO Machine, Inc. is a subsidiary of the well-known multi-national corporation PMC Global Inc., Sun Valley, CA. KOMO designs and manufactures high quality precision computer numerically controlled (CNC) routers and machining centers. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing on-site maintenance and repair services for our clients' equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Candidates should expect extensive domestic travel with an emphasis on the region where they are located.
Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on CNC routers and machining centers
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Calibrate and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Collaborate with customers to identify problems and provide effective solutions
- Install, test, and commission new equipment
- Provide training to customers on proper equipment operation and maintenance
- Document all service activities, including parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions
Requirements:
- Must be able to travel extensively. Candidates should expect overnight travel to multiple customers during the work week.
- Ability to wire control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors
- Background in installing, parametrizing, and troubleshooting variable frequency drives
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic and general mechanical systems and troubleshooting
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex machinery
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and blueprints
- Experience working with CNC machines is a plus
- Experience working with Fanuc control systems is highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
