Associate Marketing Manager

Kona Brewing Hawaii has an opening for a Associate Marketing Manager in Kailua Kona, Hawaii. The Associate Marketing Manager's primary role is to lead the company's social media efforts with added support for sponsorships, pub and brewery tour promotions. Occasional graphic design support. Supporter of advertising, PR efforts and facilitate interdepartmental projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

• • Own community management and content calendar.
  • Work closely with Marketing management and collaborate with key department / partners: Brewery / Pubs / PR / Brand Ambassadors and key Makana partners.

Support Kona Brewing events and sponsorships with focused tie-in to social media content. Primary sponsorship focuses in Kailua-Kona.

• Responsible for maintaining efficient and effective marketing asset library and graphics catalogue also accessed by Pub, Sales, Merch and Admin teams.
• Occasional Graphic Design support for social media and pub needs.
• Public relations /communications support
• Advertising / Media placement support
• Manage onsite inventory of event equipment, supplies and promotional items in Kona.
• Participate and assist Makana local giving team with charitable donations and community support.
• Supports the Company’s mission, vision, and values.
• Performs duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains attendance and punctuality per company policy.

Education/Certifications: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing/Business Administration/Communications or another related field is preferred, exceptions could be made for appropriate career experience.

Required Experience: Minimum of 5 years combined marketing management experience in brand, advertising, PR, and experiential marketing. Proven experience leading digital strategy that ties to business growth. Passion for craft beer. Strong knowledge of the local beer and brewing community in Hawaii. Passionate about dining and culinary appeal. Knowledgeable about local community, social, environmental, and non-profit organizations. Proven ability to work well with others, in an efficient way.

Knowledge/Special Skills: Strong understanding of current social media trends and best practices. Understanding of consumer-focused marketing philosophies. Responsible budget management and tracking spend. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop, Hootsuite. Goal setting and project management. Strong communications, writing, presentation & public speaking.

Work Environment: This position is a blend of outdoor and indoor work, and frequent travel for marketing events and sponsorships. Ability to travel and work nights and weekends (Estimated interisland travel 10% - 30% a month).

Physical, Mental and Visual Demands: Lifting, carrying full coolers, kegs of beer, equipment - all typical activities associated with marketing events. Continuous mental and visual attention is required as well as performing complex tasks and reporting. Occasionally, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
