Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace Inc. in Johnstown, PA is seeking to fill the position of Inventory Specialist. The Inventory Specialist will support the effort of our production goals by receiving, storing, kitting and issuing material, supplies and tools to ensure quality products for use in the assembly of Remote Weapon Stations. The Inventory Specialist will compile stock records in the stockroom, including computerized material and inventory status records. Great attention-to-detail skills are essential to the success of a candidate.
Essential job duties
- Count, sort, or weigh incoming material to verify receipt of items on a purchase order.
- Store articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Fill work orders or issue supplies from stock while maintaining database.
- Distribute stock among production workers and move or transport materials or supplies to other departments.
- Maintain inventory and other stock records in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to record "findings" into a database for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting.
- Pick required quantity of materials according to work order pick list and use scanning equipment to read bar codes. Complete pick list by showing quantity pulled or quantity short. Sign pick list to verify that quality control and count accuracy has been completed.
- Utilize computer system for adjustments of inventory counts, stock records, location changes, and damaged goods.
- Mark identifying codes and information of material lots per policy and procedure.
- Receive bar coded and packaged parts from kitting. Scan bar code on the package and place material into the proper kit. Sort and assign kits to have sleeve markers and/or cut wire added.
- Maintain an accurate inventory utilizing warehouse systems of USG Property to include scrap and properly administer CoC for USG as required.
- Count, sort, or weigh material in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material to verify physical quantity of items for accuracy based on cost "A,B,B" code or physical location.
- Utilize deductive research methods to investigate discrepant material for resolution, determination of root cause and correction action. Record assigned action to improve as necessary.
- Mark identifying codes and information of material lots per policy and procedures; sign pick list to verify that quality control and count accuracy has been completed.
- Identify, correct, and report inventory discrepancies in accordance with KPS-PRO_0023 in a timely manner (2 weeks maximum).
- Coordinate and schedule USG Property.
- Interface with Customer Property Administrator in KDA Norway, Local DCMA, USG Property Administrator.
OTHER POSITION CONSIDERATIONS:
One (1) year of experience operating in a warehousing or manufacturing with a High School Diploma/general education degree (GED) required. Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team is necessary. Must be able to certify on and use daily Fork Trucks, Pallet Jacks and other powered industrial trucks. Frequently required to stand, bend, kneel, lift, and reach. Ability to lift 50lbs. Physically demanding job.
