Job Summary:
The Safety and Quality Control Lead will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of Koniag Energy & Water’s safety practices and procedures and for verifying compliance with all customer and industry safety and quality specifications.

- Inspection of equipment, machinery, and buildings to ensure they meet company and industry safety and quality standards.
- Review and Improve Safety Procedures for continuous improvement to reduce safety risks.
- Conduct safety training sessions for both new and current staff.
- Design and implement frameworks for risk management and monitoring.
- Collaborate across the company to ensure safety practices are integrated into all aspects of business.
- Maintain safety and quality management tools and databases.
- Conduct safety and quality audits.
- Analyze accident reports and evaluate injuries on case-by-case basis.
- Participate and assist in incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions where necessary.
- Electrical inspections, equipment inspections, dimensional / positional inspections, connection inspections, label and marking inspections, visual “appearance” inspections and final product inspections.
- Complete all necessary quality required documentation including inspection reports, checklist, control plans, and job records.
- Ensure strict adherence of all local, state, and federal regulations, codes and requirements and customer specifications.
- Oversee KEW facility upkeep and maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience focusing on safety
- 5 years’ experience in the oilfield and/or construction industry
- Knowledge of OSHA standards with regard to oilfield and industrial construction
- Ability to train, influence and motivate team members
- Critical thinking
- Problem-solving skills
- Effective communication
- Valid driver’s license
Office Location and Travel:
This position is based in Wasilla, AK but may often require out of town work in remote or non-remote communities throughout Alaska. Travel to job sites may include driving or air travel. Potential future travel to support L48 Operations.

Working Environment & Conditions
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. Typical job duties may require the incumbent to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent may occasionally be asked to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
