The Electrical Designer will d evelop models for electrical, structural, and hydraulic components and assemblies, as well as assist engineers with detailed drafting and release of engineering documentation as needed.
Electrical Designer Responsibilities
- Model, design, detail, and release drawings for electrical assemblies, including routing harnesses and component installation.
- Create Engineering Change Orders (ECO) to revise, release, and maintain engineering models for drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), standards, and specifications.
- Set up part numbers, create and update BOMs, and perform other SAP data entry tasks.
- Identify assembly interferences, design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, recommending revisions and/or improvements in design.
- Provide direction to technicians, installers, and inspectors.
- Support the sales, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, and service departments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, trends, and applications.
- Complete assigned tasks according to the schedule established by the Engineering Manager.
- Associate of Applied Science in Mechanical Design/Drafting Degree or equivalent.
- 2 years of design and manufacturing experience with electro-mechanical systems.
- Understanding of requirements and processes regarding electrical component installation and assembly.
- Strong ability to multi-task, manage, prioritize, and deliver direction on several projects.
- Skilled in solid modeling CAD using AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Solid Edge (preferred).
- Proficient in detailing drawings per ASME Y14.5 requirements.
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office products, SAP, and willing to learn additional software as required.
- High degree of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
