What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Operator position at Koppers Inc.?
The Utility Chemical Operator supports the shift process of batch chemical operations to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the organization's policies, applicable laws, and customer demand. Primary responsibilities include controlling and monitoring the performance of all processes to ensure production and quality targets are met; coordinating on-shift activities to maximize efficiencies of available resources; communicating with all on-shift staff to ensure all required activities are completed in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. The utility chemical operator works in all areas of the plant, assisting as the production schedule demands.
Job Responsibilities
Follows all organizational safety rules and practices.
Perform tasks to the agreed SOPs and EHS policies.
Foster & maintain a positive work environment.
Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities.
Works with the production team to prepare equipment availability for maintenance work.
Communicates any equipment needed for repairs or replacements to management.
Recommends measures to improve production methods and equipment.
Helps troubleshoot problems and assists in solving work issues.
Ensures quality and production documentation is completed correctly and in full.
Uses company systems to document incidents and complete assigned tasks.
Performs basic & critical operating skills required to maintain the manufacturing process.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
2 years working in Chemical Manufacturing
