Description
Position Summary:
The Estimator prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. This will all be done within the confines of Kort’s Construction Services’ goals and vision.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for material, labor, equipment, subcontracts, etc.
- Attend pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits, as needed
- Prepare scope specifications and requirements, prepare project schedules, perform quantity takeoffs, prepare cost summary sheets, and input quantities into estimating software
- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work. Accept and review subcontractor/supplier proposals for accuracy, completeness and best overall value.
- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed and provide direction and support to project team
- Monitor and report on the progress and budget of projects
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
Requires the mobility to perform vehicle operating duties.
The Estimator at times will have a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects.
The Estimator at times will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.

- Eye Protection – Safety glasses are mandatory while working on-site.
