Growing Manufacturing Co has a need for a Plant Manager in the Bloomington, Indiana area. It is a direct hire role with a full benefits package and relocation.
- Operations/Engineering degree and/or 5 to 10 years in production and operations management.
- Strong background in manufacturing, with preference for candidate with background in the tubing industry.
- Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of associates.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Plan, organize and direct departments in all phases of Operations to ensure the facility operates in a highly efficient manner. Plant Manager will also be responsible for working with departments and sales to ensure a highly effective team working directly under the General Manager.
Job Description
- Responsible for and oversee all operations including manufacturing (both primary and secondary), shipping, receiving, maintenance, inventory, waste-management, planning, and safety.
- Maintain and increase production efficiency.
- Work with Sales and Accounting to implement a production schedule.
- Collect and review data to reduce inefficiencies and waste.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of consumable items used in the manufacturing process.
- Evaluate employees and give suggestions for improvement.
- Recommend process changes and capital expense projects.
- Establish effective quality control and safety programs and implement process improvements encouraging proactive participation across the manufacturing floor.
- Be proactive in identifying plant needs.
- Possess a high degree of initiative and flexibility as well as a hands-on approach to managing.
- Participate in developing and maintaining plant safety awareness and training.
- Attend daily production meetings and discuss Plant Operational performance, downtime and other day to day issues.
