KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join our practice.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality tax planning and advisory services to existing KPMG tax compliance clients
- Play supporting or leadership role (depending on previous experience) in managing tax compliance client portfolios
- Support the growth of the KPMG tax practice by assisting with thought leadership and proposals, and teaming with other KPMG professionals to identify new market opportunities
- Oversee teams of tax professionals and other staff working on client projects
- Manage financial performance of and risk associated with engagements, including budgeting, billing, and collections on projects
- Understand the U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting asset management clients
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of recent tax experience in the asset management industry (investment partnership and/or REIT experience required); previous experience as an associate at a top-tier law firm, or as a tax manager with a public accounting firm
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individual who does not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences, has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex tax concepts to clients who do not possess a technical tax background
- Strong project and people management skills or a passion for developing them (depending on experience)
- Applied working knowledge of financial and tax accounting for investments
