What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at KRA Corporation?
SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Accounting and Finance Supervisor, the Staff Accountant is responsible for maintenance of all general ledger accounts, and supports payroll processing, month-end close and financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
General Accounting
- Prepare and post monthly cost allocations;
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts;
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries;
- Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements;
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports;
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable;
- Assist in budgets and forecasts;
- Assist with payroll administration;
- Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process;
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures;
- Monthly expense variance analysis;
- Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing;
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies;
- Manage Fixed Assets;
- Responsible for assisting the Accounting Manager on special projects;
- Other ad-hoc accounting duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, finance/, or accounting from an accredited college or university and 2-5 years related accounting/contract experience (a combination of qualifying education/experience may be considered);
- Minimum of 2 -5 years in accounting/grant administration experience is preferred.
- Mastery of MS Excel.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint and ADP Workforce Now highly preferred
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and other Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint and Outlook).
