Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant / Bookeeper to manage our organization’s financial records. Working with our third-party accounting firm the person will be responsible for recording all financial transactions, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record Financial Transactions:
  • Maintain accurate records of all daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Input financial data into accounting software.
  • Account Reconciliation:
  • Reconcile all bank accounts and credit card statements regularly.
  • Monitor and resolve any discrepancies in accounting records.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  • Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, including generating invoices, collecting payments, and processing vendor payments.
  • Ensure timely payments and follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Payroll Processing:
  • Assist in processing payroll, ensuring all employee wages and benefits are accurate.
  • Maintain payroll records.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist, as needed, our third-party accounting firm prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist in financial audits and provide data as requested by management.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in entering budgets and forecasts for future financial planning.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for cost-saving measures.
  • Tax Preparation:
  • Collaborate with external accountants or tax advisors for year-end tax filings.
  • Provide necessary tax documents and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations to third-parties as needed.
  • Compliance:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial legislation and best practices.
  • Maintain Financial Records:
  • Organize and maintain financial documents, both physical and digital.
  • Backup all financial data regularly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Ad hoc duties:
  • Assist with various administrative tasks and projects as needed.
  • Provide support during the implementation of new financial systems or procedures.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Accountant / Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in bookkeeping or accounting is a plus.
  • Experience in tax preparation or payroll management is an advantage.
  • Previous experience is preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid role with typical office environment.
  • 16-20 hours per week with flexible working hours, depending on company needs

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
