Kreilkamp Trucking is looking for mechanically inclined candidates with good attention to detail for our Shop positions of Diesel Technician and Trailer Technician. Shop Technicians need to be highly organized and communicate effectively, as they will be expected to maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with drivers on a daily basis. The primary duties of shop technicians include performing diagnostic tests on our equipment to find faults, analyzing diagnostic test results, and repairing or replacing engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components.
Hourly Pay is based on experience, however, there is 6 scheduled wage increases in the first 2.5 years, OT pay after 40 hours/week, and shift differential pay!
Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities
Running diagnostic tests on equipment (tractors and trailers).
Analyzing diagnostic test results.
Checking vehicle lighting systems.
Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.
Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.
Maintaining a parts inventory.
Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
PM Services (trucks and trailers)
R/R Brakes (Disc & Drum Style)
Electrical Diagnostic
APU Repair
Ability to change and balance tires.
General truck & trailer repair
Basic Fabrication
Tractor & Trailer Inspections
Technician/Mechanic Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
Mechanically inclined.
Knowledge of tractor and/or trailer components.
Good diagnostic skills.
Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Proficiency with maintenance and repair tools.
Basic tool inventory will be required.
