About Our Quality Control Technician Opportunity:

Our Quality Control Technician inspects a variety of molds, parts, materials, and processes for various custom art and architectural projects. They confirm compliance with surface, color, finish, dimensions, and other specifications and also verify that work-in-process steps are completed. Strong organizational skills and reporting practices are essential in this role. Our QC Technicians are flexible thinkers who understand procedure and documentation flow and proactively raise awareness of non-conforming issues.

Some of the Things You Will Do:

  • Inspect a variety of molds, parts, materials, and processes for various custom art and architectural projects.
  • Identify damage, defects, and other non-conformances using standard and digital test and measurement equipment such as tape measures, calipers, durometers, color meters, and profilometers.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports and manage the inspection report filing system.
  • Identify non-conformance areas and make necessary repairs, or work with Engineering and Production on fixes.
  • Perform audits as required by quality assurance.
  • Verify and maintain quality inspection records and documentation, including audit forms, and certifications.
  • Maintain inspection equipment and keep equipment and parts free from damage during the inspection process.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, defective materials, nonconforming products, or procedural issues.
  • Proactively participate in identifying opportunities to continually improve the quality tracking process and implement changes accordingly.
  • Other quality-related activities may include:
  • Work on compliance with regulations (e.g. BAAQMD), testing (e.g. ASTM, NFPA), and codes (e.g. IBC)
  • Facilities maintenance planning, equipment calibration, and maintenance
  • Work on compliance with safety regulations (e.g. OSHA)
  • Work with the operations team to design and fabricate test samples

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3 years of experience as a QC Inspector, or in a Quality Inspection or Auditor role, within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard and digital test and measurement equipment such as tape measure, calipers, durometers, color meters, and profilometer.
  • Proficiency in the use of standard hand and power tools.
  • Proficiency in preparing and maintaining detailed, accurate inspection reports and QC documentation.
  • Ability to read, understand, and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or Work Instructions.
  • Strong PC skills including email, MS Office, data backup, and report generation.
  • An understanding of lean manufacturing principles is a big plus!
  • Ability to bend and twist, walk or stand continuously through an 8-hour shift, and lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $29.00 - $36.00 per hour
