Job Description: As the Lead Receiving Clerk, you will play a pivotal role in the efficient operation of our Receiving Department, ensuring the seamless flow of our goods into our organization. Your leadership will be instrumental in supervising receiving clerks, managing truck unloading activities, and coordinating HiLo operations to maintain the integrity of our inventory.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Supervision:
· Lead, motivate and manage a team of receiving clerks.
· Provide comprehensive guidance, training, and support to foster a high-performing team environment.
2. Receiving Operations:
· Oversee the timely and accurate receipt of incoming shipments.
· Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
3. Efficient Unloading Processes:
· Supervise and organize the unloading of trucks.
· Ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient handling of goods.
4. HiLo Operations Coordination:
· Manage and coordinate HiLo operations within the receiving department.
· Ensure the proper use and maintenance of HiLo equipment.
5. Inventory Control and Accuracy:
· Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain accurate stock records.
· Conduct regular audits to verify inventory levels and address any discrepancies.
6. Documentation:
· Oversee the accurate recording of received goods in the inventory system.
· Maintain organized and up-to-date receiving documentation.
7. Quality Assurance:
· Implement and monitor quality control measures for incoming shipments.
· Address and report any issues related to damage or defects promptly.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
· Work closely with other departments, including purchasing and warehouse management, to ensure seamless coordination in the supply chain.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or associate degree in supply chain management, logistics or related field.
· 2-5 years of experience in receiving, inventory control, or related roles. Experience in leadership or supervisory role is also desirable.
· Familiarity with receiving procedures, including checking in shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and inspecting for damage or discrepancies.
· A keen eye for detail is essential to ensure accuracy in receiving, recording, and inspecting shipments.
· Strong organizational skills are necessary to prioritize tasks, manage multiple shipments simultaneously, and maintain an orderly receiving area.
· Effective communication skills both verbal and written, are important for interacting with vendors, coworkers, and other departments.
· The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues or discrepancies that arise during the receiving process.
· Comfort using inventory management software, barcode, scanners, and other relevant technology.
· The role involves lifting, carrying, and moving heavy packages, so physical stamina and the ability to safely handle materials are important.
· Understanding of safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe work environment for all team members.
Job Type: Full-time
