Nature of Work:
Colorado Rapids are looking for a dedicated and passionate professional looking to play a key role in making athlete well-being and safety the centerpiece of sport culture at the Colorado Rapids. The SafeSport Manager will oversee the enactment of SafeSport policies to provide accountability, resources, and guidance, to ensure the safety of players.
Examples of work performed:
Ensure soccer activities at all levels of the Colorado Rapids comply with and follow the SafeSport Code, including reporting requirements
Serve as a subject matter expert on sexual abuse, emotional and physical misconduct (including, but not limited to bullying, harassment, and hazing) and best practice prevention strategies
Review, update, and develop all of Colorado Rapids’ SafeSport policies and procedures, including reasonable procedures to limit one-on-one interactions between a player who is a minor and an adult staff member or adult player
Work closely with teams at all levels of the Colorado Rapids to ensure best practices are created, communicated and consistently followed
Oversee all SafeSport training and education completions among various constituent groups at every level of the Colorado Rapids (staff, players, parents of minor players, etc.)
Continually monitor relevant subject matter and identify issues and trends
Provide and streamline access to consistent training and resources to prevent misconduct
Help receive reports of misconduct
Assist with investigating reports of misconduct in a confidential manner and producing a written summary and analysis of the investigation
Establish oversight and compliance mechanisms, including regular and random audits
Liaise with US Soccer, MLS (Major League Soccer), peers at other MLS clubs, and US Center for SafeSport regarding best practices and updated policies

Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (legal, social services, law enforcement, education, etc.)
2 years’ experience in related field
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire

Ability to handle discreet or sensitive information in a professional manner
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong professional presence, accountability, and ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines in fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word and Excel
Interest and experience in competitive sports environment, soccer preferred
General understanding of MLS and team structures preferred
Proficiency in foreign language- especially Spanish and/or Portuguese- preferred
Previous work experience in sports preferred
Compensation
$70,000 annually
