Position Summary:
Manage the Apparel & Leisure Department & maximize all financial opportunities. Role model & demonstrate the Company's core values of respect,honesty,integrity,diversity,inclusion & safety of self & others.
Frequent independent judgments are essential. Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies & state & federal laws.
Essential Job Functions:
- Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver & encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Plan ads/store events
- Implement period promotion & point of sale plan,period Merchandise Notes,& Period Planners
- Manage planograms & merchandising of the department
- Maintain compliance with corporate & divisional:
o signing,ticketing,recovery,folding/hanging,stockroom,fixtures usage & maintenance st&ards
o corporate policies & safety guidelines
o labor agreements,when applicable
o freight receiving/stocking st&ards
o Replenishment Management System (RMS) updates
o shrink control guidelines/Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) procedures
- Audit scan audits,file maintenance exceptions,supply orders,running intersection transfer log,missing markdown & markdown exception reports
- Promote & follow Company initiatives
- Sell products to customers;perform cashier functions
- Interview/hire new associates
- Complete daily tours
- Process mail; maintain department books
- Maintain awareness of overstock/understock conditions
- Review daily/weekly sales
- Manage financial reports
- Respond to verbal/written customer comments/complaints
- Verify daily/weekly time & attendance functions are completed
- Manage maintenance/repair needs
- Complete customer & associate incident/accident report forms
- Verify salvage procedures are accurate & credits are given
- Audit written distribution center returns & Returns to Suppliers
- Coordinate/supervise inventory process
- Review Intersection Transfer reports & Callback/Return to Vendor (RTV) reporting
- All store management work with associates to manage all common associate areas (i.e. break rooms & training areas) to make sure they are inviting in appearance & reflect "Our People Are Great"
- Supervise & coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews & provide feedback to direct reports
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- BA/BS in business or related field plus a minimum of six months Fred Meyer experience,two-three years related retail experience,& one-two years management experience; or combination of relevant education & experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age/19 in Alaska
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work weekends/nights on a regular basis
- Ability to travel independently on occasional basis
- Maintain confidentiality
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
- Familiarity with industry/technical terms & processes
- Ability continue education
- Valid driver's license
- CPR/first aid certification
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies,procedures,& organizational structure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel,Report Management & Distribution System (RMDS),& current Company email
- Experience directing/participating on project teams
Education Level: High School Diploma/ GED Required
