This senior Developer role is responsible for all aspects of on-prem Oracle EBS development work, including interfaces and web services to Oracle cloud solutions, customers, and partners. Expertise and collaboration within the IT organization is critical for this role, to best support the business with the high availability of secure systems, that perform at or above expected levels.
Regular collaboration with all IT functions is necessary to ensure technologies are properly in place to support all projects and production system operations. Regular duties include working directly or indirectly with business users and IT Analysts to coordinate functional specifications into technical specifications and designs, develop from those specifications, unit and system test, and prepare for migrations to production environments. Daily support of all functions implemented into production is also part of this role.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides technical expertise during all lifecycles of Oracle eBusiness system implementations throughout the business.
  • Supports day-to-day operations of business systems, working collaboratively with other IT support staff, to ensure business operations are maintained and run properly.
  • Write technical specifications, based on functional design discussions or documentation.
  • Develop new or support existing programs and web services, based on technical specifications written by yourself or others within the IT organization.
  • Develop and support integrations between EBS and cloud-based applications.
  • Unit test and engage in full system testing of all related technical functions, working with It Analysts and other staff within the project teams.
  • Create migration scripts, with backout procedures for all elevations to production during the course of project work and daily support.
  • Seeks out, researches, and advises the IT technical and management staff on issues, risks, or considerations during the normal course of business or during implementation projects.
  • Engages in all production change requests for EBS and other platforms, supported by position
  • Keeps knowledge current on industry technology landscape in order to help the company and their technology teams understand their technology options.

Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Information Technology as an Oracle EBS Developer.
  • Minimum 5 years Oracle eBusiness Applications Experience.
  • Extensive experience in setups and implementation of Oracle EBS Applications environment
  • Expertise with PL/SQL in developing and maintaining critical business functions.
  • Expertise working with Oracle Forms and Reports, and Oracle Applications Framework (OAF)
  • Experience in developing Oracle Application Express (APEX) functions to support business processes and reporting.
  • Extensive experience with Oracle APIs for importing and loading data into the EBS environment.
  • Experience in mapping data, from source to target, using available Oracle APIs and Dataloaders
  • Experience configuring Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) to support Oracle cloud and on-prem EBS
  • Experience with creating REST Web Services to interact between Websites, Portals and Cloud products and underlying business systems, primarily EBS.
  • Experience working with Oracle Integrated SOA Gateway (ISG)
  • Expertise at tuning standard and custom processes and SQL Statements.
  • Working experience with Oracle Workflow and Concurrent Processor Programs.
  • Experience with IT technologies and business processes for a manufacturing company.

DESIRED PREVIOUS JOB EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Understanding or experience in configuration of Oracle Digital Assistant, or other similar chat technologies.
  • Working understanding of WSDL, XSD, JSON, REST API’s and SOAP.
  • Working experience with Java and JavaScript.
  • Working knowledge of Bartender or other labelling software tools.

Specialize in developing scalable methods for building, deploying, and supporting cloud, on prem and store focused enterprise services and systems. Work closely with Software Engineers to deploy and operate solutions; automate and streamline processes; build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring of platform, and troubleshoot and resolve issues in development, test, and production environments. Essential Job Functions

  • Design and build infrastructure and systems that provide high levels of scalability, reliability, and performance for Kroger's stack, while balancing security, maintainability, reliability and operational excellence
  • Work with the engineering team to continuously implement and improve reliable and speedy build environments for DEV & QA; provide timely build status updates; automate as much as possible to improve efficiency and quality
  • Promote innovation, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, and self-organization
  • Ensure traceability, observability, and retrievability of system behavior
  • Build logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to identify bottlenecks and assist with debugging, analysis, and optimization in cloud, on-prem and store environments
  • Experiment with and recommend new technologies that simplify or improve Kroger's stack
  • Craft solid and clearly explained designs, playbooks, and documentation, for consumption by teammates and the larger engineering organization
  • Participate in an off-hours on-call rotation, and perform periodic off-hours work during maintenance windows

  • Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent related experience (8 years) and strong theoretical fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, lock-free data structures, multi-threaded architectures etc.)
  • 4 years of experience in the cloud SRE/DevOps/Infrastructure, or any related fields
  • Any understanding of SSH, VPN, TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP(S), network routing and subnets
  • Any experience with always-on and high-volume web server stack, Azure/GCP PaaS and Azure/Google networking, provisioning native Managed Apps & CI/CD pipelines
  • Proven knowledge of technology to support omnichannel experiences
  • Proven knowledge of service-oriented architecture/Cloud
  • Fluent in Shell Scripting with experience implementing automation and monitoring using shell scripting and other related tools
  • Knowledge of Linux architecture, security, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, troubleshooting, and production operations
  • Desired Previous Experience/Education

  • Master's Degree, Other: PHD in computer science, information systems, or related field
  • 4 years of experience in designing/working in high volume eCommerce applications
  • 2 years of experience configuring and managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • 1 year of experience with technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Ansible, Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, TeamCity
  • 1 year of experience managing System Observability experience (ELK, PagerDuty, Datadog, New Relic, Azure Monitor, Grafana, etc)
  • Any experience with Nginx, HAProxy, Squid
  • Any experience with Azure DevOps services such as DevOps, Pipelines, Test Plans, Artifacts, etc.
  • Any experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, Azure DevOps, TeamCity, etc.
  • Education Level: Bachelor's Desired
