Senior Accountant

Summary:

The role of Senior Accountant is key to the operations of the Accounting and Finance teams and both the Kryterion and Drake organizations.  The job requires the ability to work independently and along with a team to complete various daily and month end tasks.  This position works closely with the Controller to compile and analyze data and reconcile various accounts.  This position will help with various accounting tasks and projects, as needed.  This is a non-supervisory position.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer company purchase orders under Kryterion guidelines (A/R)
• Assist with monthly client invoicing (A/R) and client reconciliation
• Assist with credit card payments from clients (A/R) and reconciliation
• Assist Controller in preparing monthly statements & review and analyze data
• Backup for preparing & directly scanning bank deposits
• Review Bulk Voucher Orders and update in accounting database(s)
• Research test taker payment issues and process manual refunds
• Provide backup for accounting members and Controller
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting highly preferred
• High School Diploma/ GED is required.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent computer skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Above-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially, Excel & Outlook)
• Experience with Accounting Software Required
• Familiar with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Banking
• Experience reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances required
• Experience with using 3rd party add-ons required
• Experience with Sage preferred
• Salesforce experience a plus
• Payroll experience preferred
• Sales tax experience preferred
