You will lead metric driven, agile, scalable, resilient, cost effective, and highly productive software development teams, consisting of various levels of software developers and system architects, in Arizona and the Philippines.
We expect your time to be divided as 30% hands on programming, 40% directly managing a team of seven developers, and 30% managing two Development Managers and indirectly their teams.

Job Responsibilities:
- Directly manage a team of seven Phoenix developers in their day-to-day activities
- Manage two Development Managers and their teams in Cebu and Davao City, Philippines
- Implement the Kryterion values and create a positive work environment that makes Kryterion a best place to work.
- Train and motivate all teams to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions including best practices in architecture and design
- Implement approved architectures and Kryterion standards and processes
- Lead all hiring in the department, using strong recruiting principles to ensure we are hiring the right talent
- Constantly strive to raise the bar on delivery performance and quality in a fast agile environment
- Propose and manage a budget for your organization
- Continually drive improvements in process, talent acquisition/retention, application time-to-market and quality
- Work with our product Owners in developing a strategy to achieve roadmap goals
- When necessary, find creative ways to address gaps/issues
- Train teams on the Agile development processes
- Deliver highly scalable and reliable applications that meet business budgets/timelines while ensuring alignment to strategic technology vision
- Setup leadership structures and guidelines and build a culture that your managers and teams can follow and extend
- Provide proactive thought leadership on architecture, software design, processes, tech stack, and tool sets
- Participate in the Scrum process, as directed
- Comply with company policies and management instruction and direction
- Monitor team and project progress and provide direction and course corrections as needed
- Communicate status, priorities, and expectations to key internal and external stakeholders
- Set and evangelize a compelling department vision that is aligned with management

Required Experience
- 10 years of hands-on software development experience
- 5 years managing multiple teams in a fast-paced agile environment
- 5 years in managing offshore staff, preferably in the Philippines
- 3 years microservices experience
- 4-year BS degree (preferably Computer Science)
- MBA a plus
- Experience in the credentialing industry a strong plus
- Successful experience managing combined onsite, remote, and offshore teams is a big plus
