As a Loan Documentation Associate you will primarily be responsible for the quality control and creation of documents for all different types and levels of loans. Both of these tasks should be completed in a successful and timely manner, which should result in documents being generated accurately and compliantly. Team collaboration will be required to assist one another on the more complex files and concepts. This position will also be responsible for completing funding forms on all loans that are processed. They will be trusted to review all loan documents created by other team members to ensure the highest level of accuracy and customer service.
We anticipate a starting salary of at least $40,000 - 55,000 per annum based on your experience. Your career growth and financial reward is only limited by our shared success and your contribution to our continued growth!
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare all commercial, consumer retail, and consumer real estate loan documents for our Lenders by utilizing several industry standard software programs
Work with fellow team members and departments to ensure we are complying with all federal and state compliance regulations
Perform effective quality control on all loan terms, customer data, and collateral information by utilizing various resources to verify these data points that could alter the outcome of a loan
Develop and maintain an understanding of different types of loan terms and structures to create accurate loan documentation
Review completed loan documents for accuracy before sending off for signatures and be able to identify any discrepancies
Make quick and accurate updates to finalize loan documents that will be sent to the appropriate Lender for loan closings
Obtain an understanding of basic accounting including credits/debits and balancing accounts to prepare the loan for funding.
Create loan funding forms using an Excel template to disburse the loan funds into the proper general ledger and deposit accounts
Follow the booking process to ensure all documents that need to be kept for record keeping are done so through our Synergy software
Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Associate or undergraduate degree in finance, business or other related degree preferred
Two years prior experience in a financial institution or loan-related field preferred
Computer proficiency and literacy
Must type at least 40 words per minute accurately
Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
Basic math skills required
High level of attention to detail
Organizational and time management skills
Requires less than two years of relevant experience
Learning technical and professional skills
Learning and/or gaining experience on the documentation process for all different types of loans and levels of loans
Learning and/or gaining experience on compliance regulations
Perform quality control in a successful and timely manner
Complete funding forms on the files that are processed
Has a consistent successful performance
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for long periods of time
Able to view a computer screen for long periods of time
Must be able to speak and listen clearly both in person and on the phone
Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy
This job may require lifting up to 10 pounds frequently
