KSDK, 5 on Your Side in St. Louis, MO, is looking for an energetic, creative, intelligent Broadcast Content Producer who can create a newscast that educates, inspires and impacts audiences in one of the best television markets in the country.Our idea candidate will bring innovation and fresh ideas to engage and inform our audience. Our broadcast content producers use our extensive toolkit to fashion newscasts with an emphasis on effective graphics, compelling video and writing that is crisp and conversational.Applicants must have breaking news experience, newscast producing expertise, strong editorial judgement and a full understanding of the needs of our audience across all platforms.ResponsibilitiesEncourage innovation and risk-taking in crafting great newscasts through emotion and showcasingWrite news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platformHave a good understanding of social media platforms to incorporate into newscasts.Work collaboratively with anchors, meteorologists, all on air journalists, other producers and managers.Use creative production techniques such as graphics and other forms of media including live cameras, viewer pictures and other digital sources to enhance storiesPerform other tasks as required by Broadcast Content ManagerBA/BS in journalism, communications, or related field1-3 years of experience preferredKnowledge in photojournalism, editing, and content management systemsUnderstanding the tenets of professional journalismSkills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital contentKnowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics a plusOrganizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlinesAbility to calmly handle live, breaking newsTravel: Rarely: less than 10%Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environmentPhysical Demands Set: Sedentary work: Involves sitting most of the time; walking, lifting, bending, standing, etc.About TEGNATEGNA Inc.
