What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Manager position at KSI Auto Parts?
SUMMARY: The Line Haul Operations Manager will be responsible for tracking and tracing KSI transportation assets to maintain optimal performance. This position will communicate with distribution centers, drivers, and carriers to help ensure problem resolution, on-time deliveries, and a positive line-haul experience. The shift will start at 6PM and run for about 8-10 hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispatch regional line haul drivers using real-time data entry and telematic systems
- Track all KSI transportation assets using metrics such as utilization, productivity and deadhead
- Use ERP and telematics systems to create, monitor, update and complete loads for transition to each corresponding department
- Communicate effectively to resolve issues with all Line Haul operations
- Coordinate appointments or reschedules as needed to maximize operational efficiencies and tractor/trailer utilization
- Resolve issues such as delays, breakdowns, driver redeployment, or driver vacations that may disrupt the customer experience
- Coordinate and communicate with all Logistics team members to ensure alignment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a fast paced, 24/7 logistics operation
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Some technical school or college degree preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
- Prior experience as a dispatcher preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business and environmental conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent computer skills in Excel, MS Word, and Enterprise Resource Planning software
- Flexibility with schedule to attend meetings during other shifts
