The Controls Tech is responsible for project site startups and in-field customer training for controls systems. Travel is required with this position. KSi pays for all travel expenses and will train the right individual.
Duties:
Train end users in running their system and troubleshoot control systems on-site and remotely
Work closely with Western Controls Service Manager to bill out necessary parts and service trips while keeping an accurate truck inventory that matches inventory system
Coordinate service trips and timing with the customer – requires working closely with respective service manager to determine when a service trip is necessary and to prioritize service trips and startups
Assist in answering mid-to-high level bulk chemical related questions
Field phone calls concerning both electrical and technical questions concerning any KSi controls related product – including taking part in evening and weekend “on call” rotation)
Travel ~50 % including overnight travel
When not in the field, responsible for working out of the Sabetha office (or from home depending on type of work for the time of year) working on checking out panels, scheduling, and/or taking calls from customers
Lead by example in the area of customer satisfaction and job completion
Skills/Qualifications:
At least 1 year of automation experience preferred
Understanding of PLCs preferred
Understanding of HMI Applications preferred
Positive attitude and willing to tackle the most difficult challenges
Electrical skills preferred
Mechanical skills preferred
Knowledge of hand tools required
Basic computer skills required
Effectively solve problems using phone communication
Communication skills required
Organizational skills required
Must have a valid driver’s license
