Position: Safety and Fleet Manager
Availability: Full-time; Monday-Friday

Reports to: Area Manager
The Safety and Fleet Manager oversees and promotes safe daily employee activities, possibly spanning multiple states and customer sites. They will be responsible for Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), employee safety training, drug testing, customer relations, incident investigation/reporting, safety supplies, and DOT tractor trailer compliance. Additionally, the Safety and Fleet Manager attends regular customer meetings, and they continuously assess the needs of the shop and field environments and find ways to efficiently communicate the importance of safety awareness to ensure operations run smoothly and effective.
At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Health and Safety, or a related field is preferred. A candidate for the role should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an industrial environment practicing safety and health with a good understanding of OSHA regulations and DOT compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience within heavy industry settings.
This position will require 60% of time spent in the field operations, 40% within the shop and office settings.

Job Duties include but not limited to:
- Observance of employee performance
- Safety Data Sheets and environmental precautions
- PPE ordering and compliance
- Employee pre-hire, post-hire drug/medical testing
- Safety orientations
- Incident and accident investigation
- ELD program compliance and safe trucking practices
- Experience with workers compensation
- Employee safety training, both internal and customer required
- JSAs and safety memos
- Safety audits and inspections
- Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) compliance
- Customer relations, key contact
- Frequent field/site visits, relations with superintendents, foreman and employees
- Reports facility/employee issues to Management
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Good knowledge and experience within a heavy industrial environment
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to pass a drug and background screening
- Valid driver license
- Past success delivering solutions to increase safety culture
