Description of Position
Responsible for coordinating operational activities of a designated unit in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, Federal and State requirements, and other regulatory requirements. Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships between nursing administration and staff, and has twenty-four (24) hour accountability for compliance to nursing care standards in the planning, organizing, directing, and implementing nursing care. Works collaboratively with all departments and the medical staff to achieve and maintain quality resident care in a cost-effective manner, and promotes teamwork among all members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications and Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current Nurse licensure in the State of Hawaii required; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred. Minimum one (1) year experience in acute medical/surgical/gerontological nursing required. Management experience preferred; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Basic Life Support (BLS), required, with retraining once every two years.
