Your Role
You will support the Regional Compliance Officer being in charge of the implementation, monitoring, and the continuous improvement of a compliance program at regional/ level. You will be a subject matter expert on anti-corruption and FCPA and/or ABC topics. You will observe Kuehne Nagel's group compliance program, addressing applicable laws, regulations and Kuehne Nagel's internal procedures including Kuehne Nagel's Code of Conduct. This is a hybrid role based in Jersey City, NJ. #LI-HybridYour Responsibilities
- You will provide communication and guidance regarding compliance obligations (focused on anti-bribery and anti-trust) to the regional/ country/ department, raise awareness, and channel inquiries to subject matter experts such as for trade control, tax or QSHE
- Assure implementation, coordination, facilitation and oversight of main compliance activities (execution may lie with other areas), including:
- Integrity Due Diligence procedures for third-party relationships and related contractual aspects consistent with KNs global standards with regard of procedures, terms, conditions and representations; whereas the accountability for
- Integrity Due Diligence including taking the approve or reject decision remains with the business
- You will apply Kuehne Nagel's globally rolled out Confidential Reporting Line for misconduct/compliance violations
- You will align regional/ country/ department procedures with Kuehne Nagel's global compliance standards
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department(s) to ensure the implementation of disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance violations
- Identify training needs and collaborate with the Regional Compliance Officer and business management regarding delivery; ensure all relevant employees are trained according to corporate standards for compliance
- Ongoing progress reporting on compliance to the Regional Compliance Officer independently from local and business management and oversee compliance of and within the department independently.
- You will oversee and report on compliance remediation activities, as applicable, and prepare compliance performance reports for the Regional Compliance Officer and for local department leaders
- You will conduct compliance risk assessments for teams, aggregate and analyze compliance issues and trends, and provide reports to the Regional Compliance Officer
- You will help execute compliance reviews and audits on country level to ensure that compliance goals are met
- You will discuss the latest compliance issues with business management and employees
Your Skills and Experiences
- This role requires a lawyer with extensive working experience in a compliance function at a large global company
- Experience of the US FCPA, UK Bribery Act and the OECD convention on combating bribery and other applicable anti-bribery laws, regulations and standards, including the Federal Sentencing Guidelines
- Experience of applicable Antitrust-Laws
- 4 or more years of experience in a dedicated compliance or equivalent role
- Solid track record in the design and implementation of compliance systems following good practice standards
- 4 or more years of business experience and stature within the organization to exert influence and credibility
- Impact communicator with didactical skills
- Leadership skills to ensure that the required measures are applied consistently within the business areas
- Project management capabilities

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
