Department: SOM KC Cardiovascular Medicine ----- Faculty Position Title: Assistant Professor - Non-Invasive Adult Congenital Heart Disease Job Family Group: Academic Job Description Summary: Tenure track appointments are full-time with an initial probationary period of seven years. Criteria for promotion includes significant achievements in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. The award of tenure is based on potential for sustained contributions, performing beyond expected duties, and demonstrating leadership and innovation in activities that enhance the reputation of the University. The Clinical Scholar Track is for full-time faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service, education, and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: Clinician-Educator concentrating on teaching and Clinician-Investigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths. Job Description: Required Qualifications Education: M.D., Accredited three-year Fellowship in Cardiology, ABIM Boards in Cardiovascular Disease, and ABIM Boards in Internal Medicine Work Experience: One to five years of experience or training in ACHD. Manage the patient with ACHD and have appropriate advanced imaging skills for diagnosis and treatment. Preferred Qualifications Education: Accredited two-year Fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, ABIM Boarded in ACHD, ABIM Boards in Cardiac Ultrasound, and Boards in Advanced Imaging Job Duties Outlined: Manage the ACHD population in the acute and ambulatory settings. Provide in-patient rounding services to the Cardiovascular Department. Provide imaging and advanced imaging services to diagnose and treat the ACHD and general cardiology population. Provide night and weekend call services similar to other Non-Invasive Cardiologists.
