Position: General Manager of Asbestos Abatement
Location: Auburn, WA
Employment Status: Exempt/ Salary
Hours: Monday through Friday 7:00 – 4:00 P.M.
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000, depending on experience
The Opportunity:
The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of leading their division operations in tandem with the Regional VP. Including, but not limited to: providing strategic direction to all functional areas in the business (sales, operations, administration), developing growth plans, P&L management, revenue/profit growth, new business development, customer management, quality control, recruiting/hiring/training and developing employees. The Director communicates the company vision, goals, expectations, and promotes positive culture within their division.
Primary Responsibilities:
The GM performs the following duties along with any additional duties as assigned by management per business needs.
- Oversee day-to-day business operations for assigned division.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Regional VP as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Lead and provide supervisory oversight at all levels.
- Interview, select, and hire personnel.
- Collaborates with Regional Vice President to set performance standards; manages employee performance and takes corrective action as needed.
- Facilitate training and development of all operations personnel.
- Implement the corporation’s plans, programs and strategic partnerships.
- Communicate and embody the company vision and values.
- Assess division performance and devise plans for improvements.
- Manage profit and loss statements and account for costs and revenues.
- Allocate budget resources for supplies, equipment, marketing and personnel.
- Lead process improvement initiatives for assigned division.
- Work closely with Business Development team members to attain company sales goals.
- Partner with the Safety Manager to implement safety programs and mitigate risk.
Skills and Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a manager in the environmental space.
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, construction management, or applicable focus required.
- Effective leadership skills and ability to facilitate company teamwork to achieve business goals.
- Strong business development networks within various organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Effective problem solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to effectively manage division P&L; including budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per company policy.
