Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. As a Paralegal, you will provide essential support to our attorneys and assist in various legal tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as estate plans, contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings
- Prepare correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in the legal process
- Assist in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial notebooks
- Conduct factual investigations and gather evidence
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborate with attorneys on various projects and provide administrative support
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Paralegal or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices
- Proficient in project management and able to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with contract law and legal terminology
- Experience with Smokeball or other practice management systems is a plus
- Strong administrative skills, including phone etiquette and clerical tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
