The Caregiver is an essential role in the total quality client/family coordination of care in a multidisciplinary method under the supervision of the nursing staff and the program coordinator. The Caregiver provides direct client care and is responsible for providing assistance with activities of daily living that promotes the child's independence. Our Caregivers encourage engagement in developmentally appropriate activities and collaborate in the planning of a daily schedule.
SEASONAL:
Position for those interested in working during peak periods (summer and school breaks)
Full-time preferred
Part-time/PRN: dependent on center need

Facility Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday (6am-6pm)
Saturday: Complex Care Clinic (8am-4pm)
Starting Rate:
$11.00 - $13.00
Rate increases with experience based on pre-set qualifiers.
The Kidz Club PPEC provides daily skilled nursing care for children, ages birth to 21, who have been diagnosed with a medical complexity. PPECs initiate daily conversation among pediatricians, therapists, and family, providing continuity of care for the betterment of the child.

Responsibilities
1. Customer Service
- Seek to provide professional and courteous service to the children and their families
- Relay important information regarding each child's care to the child's family in a professional way
- Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA requirements in all situations and interactions
- Follow chain of command/Site Director of Nursing with questions and concerns
2. Child Care
- Demonstrate the ability to provide individualized care for the children under the direction of the RN Case Manager, Charge Nurse and Site Director of Nursing
- Demonstrate good listening and observation skills to maintain quality of care
- Keep children actively engaged at all times; assist each child in reaching individual, therapy and classroom goals
- Assist in loading and unloading children from the buses; sign them in and out as directed
- Perform multiple tasks, prioritizing tasks appropriately
- Follow the Guide to Positive Interaction and remain therapeutic with children at all times
- Be willing and able to work with children ages birth to 21 years old with developmental disabilities and medical diagnoses ranging in complexity
- Handle emergent/priority situations by reporting immediately to RN Case Manager, Charge RN and/or Site Director of Nursing while remaining calm
3. Teamwork
- Participate in a team effort to fulfill patient, classroom and facility goals
- Receive thorough report from previous shift on all assigned patients
- Give accurate and thorough reports to co-workers before exiting assigned area and to oncoming staff before end of shift
- Offer assistance to co-workers as time allows
4. Cleanliness
- Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the facility; complete all cleaning assignments satisfactorily
- Follow Standard Precautions protocols
- Use good hand hygiene; teach and assist children with good hand hygiene practices
- Maintain good personal hygiene and portray a professional appearance at all times
5. Policy and Procedure
- Maintain professional responsibilities to remain up-to-date on standards regarding child care, Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) regulations and The Kidz Club policies
- Keep current in The Kidz Club affairs via staff meeting and designated communications
- Follow all policies and procedures implemented by The Kidz Club as applicable to the Job Responsibilities, Employee Handbook, and assigned duties
6. Documentation
- Perform chart documentation at appropriate times and within a timely manner before end of shift
- Document accurate and complete information on all children
- Use date, time, signature, and title entries appropriately on all documentation
- Assist in maintaining medical records and ensure information is complete and filed appropriately
7. Attendance & Assignment
- Record work hours accurately and appropriately
- Adhere to work schedule
- Adhere to daily assignment and classroom schedule
- Remain flexible in changes that occur throughout the day including staffing, patient assignment, and classroom schedule
Qualifications
Caregiver Qualifications
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and written in a clear, concise and easily understood manner.
- Childcare and/or Pediatric experience preferred.
- Current negative Tuberculosis test (PPD) required.
- Current CPR (Basic Life Support) required.
- Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Required.
