Job Description:
KSLD is looking for an experienced semiconductor equipment engineer to join our Wafer Fabrication operation team to support the manufacturing and advanced development of cutting edge GaN-based laser diode products. The successful candidate will directly support the Wafer Fabrication tool maintenance activities as well as work in a team environment to optimize equipment, hardware, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades of semiconductor process equipment in all functional areas (i.e. photolithography, dry etch, wet etch, deposition, assembly, test, etc.).
- Repairs and maintenance to be performed in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, operation manuals, and manufacturers specifications using hand tools, power tools, and measuring and testing instruments
- Work with engineers and manufacturing with set up and calibration tasks, system support, preventative and predictive maintenance, pareto or other failure analysis, and procedural documentation.
- Organize and maintain spare parts inventories
- Support the quality programs such as 5s and total productive maintenance (TPM)
Experience and Skills
- Bachelors degree in a technical field (i.e. physics, electrical or mechanical engineering, materials science) or equivalent knowledge and/or experience
- Minimum of five years experience working in a semiconductor industry
- Solid semiconductor process equipment knowledge (RIE, ICP, PECVD, sputter deposition, coaters, steppers, wet benches, metrology, etc.)
- MOCVD experience a plus.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude with a hands-on approach; Related certifications a plus.
- Drafting and mechanical design experience. Ability to read electrical schematics. Experience designing, modifying, and building equipment components a plus.
- Comprehensive communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, operators, and technicians
- Experience with quality systems and requirements a plus
- Ability to work in cleanroom environment
- Dependable and able to maintain on-call hours or occasional irregular work hours or work week
- Good written communication and organizational skills; Proficient in MS Office
- Self-driven with the flexibility to work independently or under general guidance and direction
Safety Responsibilities
- May be required to participate as a member of the ERT (Emergency Response Team).
- May be required to maintain certifications for response to emergencies (i.e. HAZCOM, HAZOPER, FIRST-AID, CPR, ERT, ETC.) as required
- Able to properly use safety equipment to analyze risks and emergencies (SCBA, respirator, gas leak detection, etc.).
- Possess a strong personal focus on safety for themselves and those around them.
- Safety conscious and able to maintain a safe work environment.
Physical Requirements
- May be required to receive medical clearance for respirator use
- Operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklift, hand trucks, palette jacks, etc.)
- Loading and pushing hand trucks and carts to move equipment to various locations
- Climbing stairs and ladders to access areas and equipment
