Title: Automation Control Engineer
Pay Rate: $46/hr.
Location – Houston, TX
Duration – Long Term
Hybrid role.
Contractor should be able come into the Houston location and work 3 days in office and two days from home.
Job Description:
o Coordination towards other packages (Power, Drives)
o Coordination towards Automation sub-packages & 3rd party (IAS, SIS, Asset Mngt, HMS)
o Coordination towards Technology R&D / P&S (Solutions, requirements)
o Communication to customer and end-customer on all technical matters
o Develop solution based upon system requirements.
o Follow-up Document handling
o Automation/SCADA of Energy Management
o Prepare the requirements to perform FAT.
o Develop code for HMI and Processes panel.
o Development of (propulsion control and PEMS) system description and developing HW & SW testing procedures
o Experience in 800XA system, development of PLC programming AC800M and PLC500 with complex sequence of operation
o Developing/customizing Power and energy management system application to match approved function description.
o Developing/customizing Propulsion control system, application to match approved function description.
o Experience of IEC61850 and TCP/IP network Protocols
The responsible for the following:
1. Secure quality assurance (QA) for the assigned package within contractual scope of supply.
2. Secure the package to comply with the established Health and Safety Executive (HSE) rules and regulations defined.
3. Carrying out communication with the customer concerning technical matters related to scope.
4. Carrying out communication with the sub-suppliers an all matters related to the order, and assuring that all changes and additional requirements are handed over properly.
5. Secure that necessary approvals are obtained from the client for design, drawings, quality, and inspections formats.
6. Secure that all verbal agreements are properly documented and approved by the parties.
7. Assuring third party approval of the documents and systems/requirements.
8. Assuring changes found to deviate from the contracted scope of supply is addressed.
9. Define and describe changes (technical) found to deviate from the contracted scope of supply.
10. Secure that feedback is provided to the Lead Engineer on problems, progress, and experience in all areas.
11. Communicate to Lead Engineer any request for changes beyond the scope of contract.
12. Secure required documentation as base to write purchase orders to sub- suppliers.
13. Secure commissioning documentation and job cards when required.
14. Quality Control of documentation (Drawings, Wiring Diagrams)
15. Delivery of final documentation based on “as delivered” after closed commissioning.
16. Assuring Purchasing of Hardware and Handle Logistics.
17. Develop/modify automation cabinets drawing, review BOM.
18. Develop communication network topology.
19. Identify the interfaces between automation cabinets and other systems and products.
20. Develop automation Input/output list.
21. Develop/modify input output interface list.
22. Review Interconnection drawing.
23. Update Firmware of Network Switches
24. Update /modify System information document (include IP address…etc.)
25. Setup the OWS PCs
26. Provide Commissioning checklist for PEMS, Propulsion control application
