What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Banker II position at L A Federal Credit Union?
LAFCU's Branch Member Service Representative II provides excellent service to Members and Non-Members visiting branch/service center locations. Provides information and promotes credit union products and services to build relationships. Processes applications and transaction/service requests in the general areas of establishing/maintaining accounts (incl. Checking, Savings, Money Market, Holiday, Share Certificates, IRAs, Business Accounts, etc.), loan request (incl. applications, funding and closing), and auxiliary credit union services. This position is a full time position and reports to the Branch Manager I at the employee’s assigned branch location.
Job Summary / Description
- Under limited supervision, provides information to new and existing members in regards to the various Credit Union services.
- May assist and educate members with one or more of the following areas: Opening of regular share accounts, holiday, checking (share drafts), money market, trusts, certificates, and individual retirement accounts.
- Complete basic data entry required to open accounts and teller transactions.
- Maintain control over cash draw and balance transactions daily.
- Requests for new and existing loans, etc.
- Complete system file maintenance required for loan applications, and required documentation in order to fund approved loans.
- Review application information and recommend a loan decision to underwriting.
- Initiate calls to members regarding application status and clarification of loan parameters, in case of loan denial counsels them on opportunities to improve future eligibility.
- Provide superior and quality member service; provide members efficient and accurate transaction processing.
- Promote and maintain positive relations with all contacts, members and potential members.
- Promote credit union’s products and services, consistently cross-sell LAFCU products at every opportunity to meet the member’s needs; including CUSO services (insurances, investments and other services).
- Maintain all required forms and may assist in related areas of Credit Union operations.
- Adhere to credit union new accounts and lending policies and procedures to comply with state and federal rules and regulations and other related compliance requirements.
- Requires two-year experience in banking operations. One-year new accounts and one year loan interviewing experience in a financial institution preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with members.
- A good understanding of operations and/or lending regulations, and Credit Union's products and services is required, as well as ability to use standard office equipment.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
