What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tutoring position at L.A.S.E.R. Project?
Please know this is an independent contractor position. We are looking for serious inquiries only as we strive to provide great service to our clients. You must already have the will and skills to service our clients. You must have reliable transportation, a laptop, and excellent time management skills. Must be able to respond to emails on a regular basis and be able to problem solve. Must be able to follow basic directions in order to complete daily task. Contractor must be able to complete documentation by the weekly and monthly deadlines. Contractor must be able to attend staffing bi-weekly on Thursday evening or Friday Mornings either face to face or via the web. Contractor must have availability and flexibility as all client's schedules are different and some require evening and weekend availability. L.A.S.E.R. Project services clients in multiple counties throughout the state of Indiana. Case loads depend upon your availability and ability to complete progress notes by the weekly deadlines. There will be a starting pay rate with the chance to earn raises after your 180 day evaluation. Pay day is on the 5th & 20th of the month

L.A.S.E.R Project’s services are family driven so that individuals do not return home to the same barriers which may have led to their unfortunate circumstance.
Description
- Tutoring will be provided to raise the academic performance of school aged youth to a level consistent with the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) Academic standards.
- These are benchmark measures that define what students should know and
be able to do at specified grade levels beginning in kindergarten and
progressing through grade twelve (12).

- Services shall be provided in a manner that is age and developmentally appropriate, and consistent with the child’s academic and learning style, interpersonal characteristics, and special needs.
- Children will be connected as appropriate with both formal and informal community supports, services, and activities that promote their literacy skills.
- The child’s characteristics such as race, culture, ethnicity, language, and personal history including child abuse and neglect will be considered when choosing or designing program interventions, materials, and curriculum.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or at least 60 hours of post-secondary credit hours in the Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
