JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for moving, loading and unloading products and materials while following standard work methods and practicing safe work habits to ensure efficiency. Works closely with other yard personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Attends daily safe start meetings and follows all safe work practices and procedures.
Comply with all company safety, quality and environmental policies and procedures.
Maintain 5S standards to ensure a clean and safe work area.
Trained to operate a yard forklift in a safe and efficient manner.
Knowledge of proper rigging and principles.
Provide ground hand signals to other operators.
Examine received material to verify conformance to quality standards.
Responsible for shipping of production products per Planning Schedule and ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete.
Perform all pre-shift inspections prior to equipment operation.
Professionally interact with internal and external customers.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one-year previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment required
- Previous forklift operation experience preferred
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to follow instructions and work positively within a team
- Ability to exert up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds of force frequently, and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
