POSITION DESCRIPTION:


The CNC Programmer creates programs for numerical control machines using Mastercam software. This position is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of all CNC machining and programming operations. This role is tasked with working in close concert with machinist, leads, engineering teams, and machining operations management to increase productivity and optimizing machining programs and procedures.


REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Utilize Mastercam for programming CNC machines such as 3-axis mill turns and Horizontal 4 axis.
  • 2 Years of CNC Programming experience
  • 2 Years of CNC operator experience
  • Design work holding fixture for machining and tubing, custom tools and build 3-D models.
  • Troubleshoot software settings and configure post processes as required.
  • Veri cut NC files as well as maintain revision control on programs and setup sheet.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of CNC programs and machining processes.
  • Knowledgeable of cutters and adjusting speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life.
  • Evaluate drawings and engineering data sets to determine proper approach to creating precision parts.
  • Ability to interpret a wide variety of aerospace detail parts, assembly drawings, parts lists, and process specifications from a diverse customer base.
  • Knowledge of part tooling, fixtures, and jigs.
  • Strong grasp of and in the use of measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Meets expectations for productivity and production goals.
  • "Solidworks" experience

 

Preferred Experience

PC-DMIS CMM.

Catia / Fusion 360 CAD modeling software

Design and fixture model experience.

Aerospace Experience

3D printing

Tubing experience a PLUS.

Provides consistent ideas for process improvements.

Able to proving out programs on first time runs and make corrections as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

Sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching.  Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. 


Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a standard office environment and occasionally to a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the manufacturing environment has the potential to be 89.4 decibels, which requires OSHA approved ear protection.  Frequently used PPE if in the manufacturing environment is:  Ear protection, dust masks, respirators, gloves. May occasionally be exposed to various cleaners and solvents in our manufacturing environment. All employees are required to follow guidelines for mask wearing, hand washing, and social distancing.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent

Experience in CNC operation Required

Experience in manufacturing Required

Experience in Aerospace Preferred


Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

Valid driver’s license and good driving record. We reserve the right to check your personal driving record. This is required to have new drivers added to our truck insurance.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of typing, Windows, Microsoft Office, website navigation, (ERP experience is preferred, not required).
