Job Title: Lead, Contracts

Job Location: Lynchburg, VA

Position requires a senior level candidate with comprehensive knowledge of commercial and government contracting. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), FAR supplements (e.g. DFARS), and other agency regulations and International contracting experience is a plus. Candidate expected to perform the following tasks with minimal oversight or direction:

  • Analyze significant and/or unique contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures
  • Provide contractual review of solicitations, draft proposal responses, and support overall proposal development
  • Negotiate contractual terms and conditions that minimize legal, commercial, and technical risk while maximizing revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow through innovative and creative contract formation
  • Establish and maintain primary contractual interface with the customer during and after negotiations
  • Mitigate performance risks and support change control processes and overall contract administration for large, complex projects
  • Identify and analyze new laws, regulations, and contract trends to determine negative business impacts
  • Provide reports and advise senior leadership regarding commercial, legal, and contractual matters
  • Propose improvements in processes, systems, or products
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees across the company within areas of expertise

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
