Job Description:
Position is for a Specialist, Quality Engineer, assigned to Waco, TX facility. Candidate filling this position will be responsible for all people, products, and processes related to verification and compliance audits of aircraft depot-level maintenance and major modification installations.

Essential Functions:
- Candidate will be required to lead improvement Projects/kaizen events (DMAIC, Kaizen, FMEA, Visual Management boards, 5S 1, etc) to bring together cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and achieve targeted performance improvements
- Candidate will be required to develop, analyze statistical data for product/process improvement. As required, perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) via 5 Why analysis, 8D, or other tools
- Must be able to review internal and external audit data to determine contractual or program risk for various aircraft ground maintenance programs to include Tool Control, Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Aircraft Ground Handling, Aircraft Servicing, Training and Certification, Ground Support Equipment, Engine and Auxiliary Power Unit Operations, Welding, Life Support, Egress Maintenance, Tire and Wheel, Corrosion Control, Aircraft Cleaning and Paint, Battery Maintenance, Hydraulic Fluid Contamination, Weight and Balance, Calibration, Oil Analysis
- Candidate will be responsible to review company procedures to ensure alignment with contractual requirements and coordinate approval with all agencies.
- Position requires good communication skills- both verbal and written, required for daily coordination with Production, Engineering, Program Office and Customer representatives.
- Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance, and special access clearances for proprietary programs which requires U.S. Citizenship.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Quality experience.
- 4 years experience in design phase activities, manufacturing test and evaluation, working with electromechanical systems and mechanical hardware.
- 6 months professional experience with software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Access, Minitab or JMP, Project Management, Simulation modeling or other Lean/SS applications
Preferred:
- A thorough understanding of RCCA and associated methods and tools
- Current active DoD Secret Security clearance
- One or more certifications in Quality Sciences such as Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, ISO/AS9100, SPC, ASQ certified engineer/manager/auditor, or similar.
- Blueprint, Technical Order, and Maintenance Manual comprehension and application strongly desired.
