The Assembly Integration and Test Focus factory at L3Harris is looking for a Test Engineer in the Vibration Lab. This position is to provide engineering support services to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity associated with the design and test of highly complex optical sensing spaceflight hardware utilizing basic technical standards, principles, theories and concepts to develop and execute test plans and procedures. Supports preparation of the test environment and is a contributor to Test Readiness Reviews as well as responsibility for developing, reviewing and validating test results against requirements. Follows established procedures and specific, detailed instructions and/or guidance from more senior functional staff. Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for space-bound products, systems, components, or modifications. Testing can be related to vibration, shock, acoustic, modal and static load. Ultimately delivers thoroughly tested aerospace products, equipment and systems with supporting documentation to the customer (internal and external) complying with specifications and production requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree and a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience, or Bachelor's Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and 0-2 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to develop skills to execute procedures, document results, and communicate those results through the interpretation of electrical schematics, work instructions and procedures.
- Demonstrate analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Willing to work shift work including extended shifts, rotating 24/7 shift coverage, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Speaks clearly and concisely, presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Working knowledge of typical vibration, acoustic, shock, static load related or industrial instrumentation and/or data acquisition systems; i.e. strain gauges, accelerometers, microphones, pressure transducers, etc.
- Experience with high reliability, aerospace products test and verification.
- Experience working in a clean room with ESD and contamination sensitive flight hardware
- Experience with MatLab
- Proficient with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint.)
- Experience developing and executing procedures, document results, effectively communicate orally and in writing.
- Experience generating detailed technical reports, data reduction for requirement verification.
