What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Training Counselor position at LA Fitness?
Our ProResults training staff boasts some of the best personal trainers in the business! Our Personal Training Sales Counselors use their knowledge to sell our ProResults personal training services, as well as to help guide members to the right trainer and the right training program for them. They work hand in hand with the Fitness Sales staff to set up complimentary introductory training assessments for our new and existing members. This is a full time position with full medical and vision benefits. We make lots of promotions from within so the opportunity for growth is always available. They are paid hourly plus commissions and receive a complimentary club membership.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct fitness assessments and consultations to understand clients' goals and fitness levels
- Design personalized workout programs based on clients' needs and goals
- Provide instruction and guidance on proper exercise techniques and form
- Motivate and support clients to achieve their fitness goals
- Monitor clients' progress and make adjustments to their programs as needed
- Educate clients on nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices
- Maintain a clean and safe workout environment
Skills:
- Sales: Ability to promote personal training services and generate leads
- Personal training: Knowledge of various exercise modalities and training techniques
- Physiology knowledge: Understanding of how the body responds to exercise and the principles of exercise science
- Sports coaching: Experience in coaching or training athletes in specific sports or activities
- Anatomy knowledge: Understanding of human anatomy and how it relates to movement and exercise
- Group fitness: Ability to lead group fitness classes and modify exercises for different fitness levels
- Body mechanics: Knowledge of proper body mechanics to prevent injury during exercise
- Fitness sales: Experience in selling personal training packages or gym memberships
- Physical education: Background in physical education or related field, with knowledge of teaching methods for different age groups
- Program design: Ability to create individualized workout programs based on clients' goals, abilities, and limitations
