La Merenda is seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for delivering high-quality products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cut different types of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to restaurant preferences and specifications.
  • Ensure the freshness and quality of meat products by inspecting them for any signs of spoilage or damage.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of meat products.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure stock levels are maintained and replenished regularly.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and new cutting techniques to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines for cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with inventory management and rotation of stock to minimize waste.

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and the ability to accurately and efficiently prepare them.
  • Exceptional knife skills and the ability to use various cutting and grinding equipment safely.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure the quality and presentation of meat products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Basic math skills for weighing and costing meat products accurately.
  • Physical stamina and strength to stand for long periods, lift heavy meat products, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a butcher
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Butcher or similar role.
  • Certificate in Butchery or relevant training is preferred.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food handling and storage.
  • Familiarity with the use and maintenance of cutting and grinding equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and a passion for delivering high-quality meat products

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
