La Merenda is seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of different cuts of meat, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for delivering high-quality products.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and cut different types of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, according to restaurant preferences and specifications.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of meat products by inspecting them for any signs of spoilage or damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of meat products.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure stock levels are maintained and replenished regularly.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new cutting techniques to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
- Adhere to portion control guidelines for cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Assist with inventory management and rotation of stock to minimize waste.
Job Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and the ability to accurately and efficiently prepare them.
- Exceptional knife skills and the ability to use various cutting and grinding equipment safely.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure the quality and presentation of meat products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
- Basic math skills for weighing and costing meat products accurately.
- Physical stamina and strength to stand for long periods, lift heavy meat products, and perform repetitive tasks.
- 1-2 years’ experience as a butcher
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Butcher or similar role.
- Certificate in Butchery or relevant training is preferred.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in food handling and storage.
- Familiarity with the use and maintenance of cutting and grinding equipment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industry trends and a passion for delivering high-quality meat products
