Job Description:

• Prepare food and authentic Mexican dishes.
• Open the shift.
• Prepare the breakfast menu and fill the line with prepared food.
• Prepare food for the lunch menu.
• Provide excellent customer service and promote the products to stimulate sales.
• Implement the guidelines established by the Health Service to clean and sanitize.
• Collaborate with all the departments of the store to control costs, shrinkage and loss of product.
• Prepare new and diverse dishes, requested by management.
• Sterilize fruits and vegetables properly.
• Make orders with suppliers for plates, glasses, straws, etc.
• Learn new safe methods to prepare, cook, store and serve food in accordance with the U.S. code of food by the FDA.
• Maintain communication with all the departments and the manager about what the department needs to move production (bakery, vegetables and meat department).
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is working properly.
• Label the taquería products in the refrigerators.
• Manage and plan assignments and work schedules for employees according to the flow / traffic of customers.
• Assign responsibilities of taquería employees.
• Maintain control of raw materials, and manage inventory in refrigerators, including specials’ items and frozen products.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• When required perform all activities of a shift leader.
•  Perform any other task assigned by the store manager.

Job Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
• Knowledge of the weight and volume measurements.
• Minimum 3 years experience in preparing Mexican dishes.
• Manual skills.
• 2 years experience in inventory control. 
• 3 years experience in customer service.
• Ability to have a conversation in Spanish.
• 2 years experience in staff management.
• Conversational Spanish.
• GED
• Health certification for food handling.

 Physical Requirements:

• Lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to flex, kneel, bend and stoop.
• Ability to work at different temperatures (hot and cold).
• Ability to do repetitive movements.
