Description

Supervise the facilities & equipment maintenance teams in our food manufacturing plant. This

position will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our facility infrastructure,

equipment, and systems while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement. And

supervising a team of skilled maintenance technicians and overseeing the maintenance and repair

of automated equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

Requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

1) Supervision and Leadership:

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide leadership to a team of Maintenance & Facility technicians.
  • Train maintenance staff on proper maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
  • Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and develop solutions to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all automation equipment, including mixers, fillers, conveyors, packaging machines, and more.

2) Preventive Maintenance & Facilities Upkeep:

  • Develop and implement a robust preventive maintenance program for facility and production equipment with Maintenance Planner through a CMMS.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules and documentation.
  • Identify and address potential maintenance issues proactively.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify and address potential issues proactively.

3) Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensures that safety is given top priority in work execution, including Arc/Shock Hazard safety, confined spaces, lockdowns, Hazardous materials, hard tools safety, etc.
  • Understands and applies safety practices, and works to develop a basic understanding of OSHA
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other relevant regulations to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.

4) Continuous Improvement:

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on reoccurring issues.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to plan and execute upgrades and modifications to automation equipment for improved efficiency and reliability.

5) Performs other duties as required

Background Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred. 5 years of

experience in facilities & equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge of food manufacturing facility operations and GMP’s is desired. Strong technical and

mechanical aptitude. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in the food industry. Excellent

leadership and communication skills. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to

work in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. Proficient with Microsoft Suite and a

CMMS.


 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.
  • Work conditions vary, working time will vary based upon work / project needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 5 to 90 F degrees in processing departments.
  • Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant.
  • Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 25 lbs. to stand for long periods of time.
  • Close visual acuity to view a computer terminal, analyze reports, manage data and detail
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
