They are responsible for managing daily restaurant operations and supporting each business's goals. The LaVida Operations Manager is a direct extension of the La Vida support center and will be stationed in-house at the business to assist with all aspects of service, be a leader on the floor, and be an active partner in achieving the goals of that business. This person will approach their work with energy, enthusiasm, and an aptitude for providing top-notch training to everyone on our team. The LaVida Operations Manager holds a critical role in the growth of our brand as they are a main leader of our company culture. Must Enjoy the Ride!

Duties & Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development
  • Support the teams at the units while consistently reinforcing our core “How We Roll” principles throughout
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the La Vida Support Center regarding Team Development & HR happenings at the units
  • Build & inspire the teams and be an effective coach; develop and elevate staff for growth and assist them in reaching their goals
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues; support with the responsibilities of team to ensure objectives are met and excellent training is consistently achieved
  • Ensure team members have the right tools, knowledge and equipment required to do their jobs safely and effectively
  • Understand performance expectations, provide feedback, coach team members, and assist in employment and terminations decisions when necessary
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by tracking emerging trends in the industry; attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
  • Live the brand and be a brand ambassador, enliven the La Vida Philosophy, and make decisions in the best interest of the company every time
Operations
  • Oversee all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance to guest service, ensuring positive guest service in all areas
  • Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning and oversight of product quality & cleanliness; responsible for ensuring consistent high-quality of food preparation & service
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs
  • Complete all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties accurately & on time
  • Uphold all ServSafe guidelines and ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, & ordinances
  • Maintain professional restaurant image by enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, maintenance of kitchen/dining areas, and proper uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Respond to complaints & take any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests; investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service
  • Ensure that proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests and company assets
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Complete accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or employee is injured
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of leadership experience in a hospitality/management setting
  • College degree is preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable;
  • A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative;
  • Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports;
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation;
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States;
  • Must agree to background and credit check;
  • Must be ServSafe certified;
  • Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, ability to balance personal & professional life;
  • Professional appearance, punctual, reliable;
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to work in very fast paced environment;
  • Advanced leadership qualities and a desire to improve;
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, POS;
  • Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch. This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds as well as climbing up and down stairs quite frequently during shifts.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedules consisting of some weekends and frequent travel
