Associate, Consumer & Commercial Insights:
The Associate, Consumer & Commercial Insights will provide analytical, operational and strategic support for LA28’s consumer research programs across the full spectrum of needs in the Olympic movement in the U.S., including LA28, Team USA, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), athletes and key peers. The role will support qualitative and quantitative research programs related to ongoing needs, the Paris 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games and preparation for the LA28 Games handover. This role will work closely with other members on the LA28 Insights & Analytics team and will also collaborate with other LA28 and USOPC functions (including but not limited to USOPC Marketing, USOPC Strategy, Partnership Marketing, Sales, Consumer Products, LA28 Games Planning & Development and NBC Insights).
The Associate, Consumer & Commercial Insights will have demonstrated experience in executing a wide range of consumer research programs and in synthesizing key insights and communicating findings in a simple, digestible manner for a wide range of stakeholders. Intellectual curiosity will be a key requirement for success in this role, from the design/conception of new research programs to the development of key findings and insights. The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, critical thinker, and possess a “figure it out” mentality when encountering new or unfamiliar challenges.
This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Consumer Insights & Analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and Scale Consumer Research Initiatives
- In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Consumer Insights & Analytics, drive and support primary research initiatives from conception through to project management, analysis, visualization and presentation
- Serve as the operations lead across all primary and vendor-led quantitative research programs (e.g., survey programming, sample plans, data collection, data table creation and organization)
- Support qualitative research programs and process (e.g., recruitment, screening, logistics, analysis)
- Own the day-to-day management of the in-house U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Fan Community, leading the creation of new activities, recruitment and data hygiene across member profiling
- Fulfill ad-hoc fan insights requests from key stakeholders, and define the best approach across multiple data sources
- Support partner research and reporting around Olympic & Paralympic Games windows
- Manage creation and optimization of key research deliverables
Optimize the Consumer Research Program Foundation
- Support the Sr. Manager, Consumer Insights & Analytics and other group personnel to develop foundational policies, procedures, best practices and standards across the full consumer research value chain
- Ensure consistency across programs and question types as new studies are designed
- Ensure that consumer research data and findings from Games windows are rigorously structured and maintained for future reference and comparability
- Act as thought-partner, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our research programs and deliverables
- Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders across LA28, Team USA and USOPP to understand and anticipate insights needs
Own Mission-Critical Insights Tools/Platforms
- Own core syndicated data and audience intelligence tools, responsible for configuring and querying data as needed
- Own the day-to-day social listening program, responsible for underlying configuration, optimization and reporting on ad-hoc/emerging needs, as well as collaborating on data integration with our broader infrastructure
- Drive the media monitoring program in collaboration with LA28 and USOPC Comms
- Conduct analysis and screening of new tools, platforms and capabilities as needed
- Proactively identify opportunities to complement primary research initiatives with third party and syndicated data sources
Background & Qualifications:
Experience & Expertise
- Professional experience in consumer insights and strong handle of the research process from start to finish across a range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies
- Awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles in research, especially as they relate to facilitating inclusive data collection, mitigating bias in collection and analysis, and humility in community engagement.
- Fluency working with Office suite products, with demonstrated ability to utilize advanced features/functions in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience programming and managing quantitative research projects in Qualtrics or similar survey development tools
- Proficiency in managing research sample to achieve robust, defensible and comparable results
- Proficiency in data processing and analysis tools such as SPSS Statistics or Q Research
- A structured thought process with well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to work independently to resolve issues amid ambiguity
- Working familiarity with standard social listening and analytics tools
- Demonstrated impact supporting integrated projects across multiple offices/time zones in a timely manner

The annual base salary range for this position is $68,000 - $78,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law. LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
