Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or equivalent
- 10 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably sheet metal
- Ability to utilize supply chain analytics in decision-making.
- Project experience, ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of ERP, safety stock modeling, and forecasting
- Advanced Excel skills
- APICS, ISM, Lean, or Six Sigma certification a plus
- Responsible for developing detailed category strategies.
- Direct all aspects of the organization's supply chain management and operations, including procurement, vendor relations, supplier quality, sole sourcing, and new product development procurement.
- Responsible for overall continuity of supply and active risk mitigation. Work with manufacturing to resolve, quality, delivery, capacity, and other issues as required.
- Report on supplier and commodity market analysis by monitoring supply chain trends.
- Define and regularly communicate the commodity strategy to senior staff.
- Evaluate current and new suppliers to develop and improve service levels in search of continuous improvements regarding total cost and efficiency as well as minimizing sole source suppliers.
- Ensure alignment of category strategies to business requirements and objectives.
- Conduct supplier contract negotiation, supplier selection, and contract lifecycle management.
- Champion supplier development and regular business reviews.
- Analysis of make vs buy decisions.
