Job Title: Electrical Designer

Department: Office Operations

Reports To: VP of Design Engineering

Essential Function:

• Lead various electrical project designs including electrical schematics, electrical power systems, lighting systems, protection and controls. Electrical schematics include:
• Schematic Diagrams.
• Wiring diagrams (Point-to-Point)
• Standard Block diagrams.
• Pictorial wiring diagrams.
• Follow all company, client and project design and drafting standards.
• Responsibilities include ensuring that the electrical systems design comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
• Lead a variety of assignments using prescribed methods and standard techniques including drawing sequence and presentation, sizing various system components and refining rough sketches.
• Lead the evaluation of electrical designs or sketches and redlines or mark-ups on ongoing projects for quality assurance.
• Approve reports, drawings, and tests to plan and lead design projects to meet deliverables.
• Approve design codes and specifications related to design requirements.
• Lead production of electrical design drawings within scope, budget and schedule. Perform project tasks and assignments within budget and deadlines as it relates to electrical design,
• Compute calculations for conduit/grounding layouts, equipment and panel wiring diagrams, and relay panel schematics under the partnership of the drafting and layout departments.
• Incorporate schedules, budgets and project criteria into electrical design and layouts to meet project financial goals.
• Responsible for the quality review of all revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical and well-structured manner.
• Train, mentor, and develop less experienced drafting, detailing and design staff members where applicable.
• Responsible for the electrical design QA/QC process adherence.

Minimum Background, Experience, and Requirements:

• Must be proficient in AutoCad, and SolidEdge or another brand of 3D CAD software.
• 3 – 5 years Electrical schematic experience
• Proficient in MS Office software suite
• Strong organizational skills
• Good administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to work as an individual contributor and a team player.
• Reliable, good work ethic, and high integrity.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
